Gretna Baptist Softball
Finishes Season.
The
Gretna Baptist Softball Team finished the season in the
Championship Game against Temple Baptist Church of
Lincoln. It was a good competitive game. Temple Baptist
won with an 8 to 7 score in the final inning. The game
concluded with good fellowship and prayer between both
teams.
Church blessed with
second Baptism Service of the year.
On
Sunday, July 27, was blessed with a second baptism
service for the year. Two were baptized to biblically
proclaim their faith in Christ. The church also enjoyed
the ministry of Mike and Peggy Carr, missionary builders
with Continental Baptist Missions. The Carr's were part
of the building team that worked on our church building.
Gretna Days Activities
Were Exciting!
The
town of Gretna celebrated its annual Gretna Days Weekend
July 18-20. Gretna Baptist had the pleasure of
participating in a variety of ways. On Friday evening we
made our property available for parking and viewing the
city's fireworks display. We parked approximately 300
cars. This gave us the opportunity to tuck an
introduction to our church under every windshield. We
also had an open house so people could cool down and
enjoy some refreshments. And we walked through the park
giving away free homemade chocolate chip cookies. On
Saturday we participated in the Gretna Days Parade. This
year's Float had a large Teddy Bear, Rocking Horse, and
Blocks. We gave away 2000 tracks called Salvation is
Simple, and gave away 1700 American Flags.
Vacation Bible School Was
Amazing!
July 8-11 Gretna Baptist held Bible School in three
locations: in Gretna, Springhill Park, and Hickory Ridge
Park. This gave us the opportunity to minister to
families we normally would not have contact with. Every
day was full and exciting with 84 children in
attendance. The theme was Power Lab: Discovering the
Miraculous Power of Jesus. We were grateful for the help
of the youth group from Camden Baptist Church, in
Wellington, Ohio, and their pastor, Bill Kopas. Their
ministry to the boys and girls, and our congregation was
excellent!
Bennington Baptist Church

On
Friday, June 27, Bennington Baptist Church was received

Regular Baptist Churches as a Mission Church during the
Association's Annual Conference, meeting in Ankeny,
Iowa. There were approximately 1700 in attendance for
the week long conference. Pastor's Peter Jenks and Eric
Wilmeth were present to receive a certificate of
fellowship from Dr. John Greening, the national
representative of the Association. Bennington Baptist
Church was started by Gretna Baptist Church three years
