The Purpose of Celebrate Recovery at GBC is
to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through
8 recovery principles found in the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12) and
in the 12 steps of recovery.
This experience allows us to “Be Changed”. We open the door by
sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another.
In addition, we become willing to accept God’s healing grace to
solve our life problems.
By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow
spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and
dysfunctional behaviors.
This freedom creates peace, joy, serenity and most importantly, a
strong personal relationship with God and others.
As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving
and forgiving higher Power - Jesus Christ.
Though it is sometimes difficult for us to admit, we have all lived
less than perfect lives. Our good intentions have failed us again
and again as we have hurt people, hurt ourselves and are often left
feeling that we are failures as Christians or even as human beings.
No matter what your hurts, habits, or hang-ups may be, there is
HOPE! Celebrate Recovery is a safe, welcoming, grace-filled,
Christ-centered fellowship. You will find many who are dealing with
struggles similar to your own. You will also find a group of men and
women who share your desire to be made whole.
